Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd has hit out at Nicky Hammond and Celtic’s signing policy.
After Wednesday nights defeat to Ferencvaros, the former Rangers and Kilmarnock striker has claimed in his Sun column that Neil Lennon was out to make a statement, by not starting with a recognised striker.
Of course, Neil Lennon made the choice on Wednesday night to start with midfielder Ryan Christie up top and did not bring a striker on until Albian Ajeti was brought on with 12 minutes to go.
Polish striker Patryk Klimala also remained on the bench for the full 90 minutes and after the game Lennon claimed that both Klimala and Ajeti were not match fit.
Boyd, then went on to claim that the Northern Irishman has made his mind up on the young striker and the clubs recruitment in the last few years has been ‘poor’ before listing the likes of Boli Bolingoli, Vakoun Bayo and Marian Shved.
The pundit yet again, appears to be trying to stir things up between the Celtic support and the playing squad. He has previous of doing this, after mentioning a few years back that there was a ‘ split in the dressing room’
However there very little criticism of a club who haven’t won the last 11 trophies in a row.
Now, he claiming that the manager is trying to play games with the clubs hierarchy and even that it could go deeper after his comments that this sort of thing had been bugging him for a while.
Wednesday night was a frustrating one, that we have to get out of our systems now. We were all annoyed and I’m sure that included Neil Lennon. Unfortunately for us, I’m sure we will be hearing still like this for a little while longer, until we get ourselves back in track and try to get Ferencvaros out our minds.
