Celtic secured a vital win over Dundee on Sunday but former Rangers striker and current Sky Sports pundit, Kris Boyd, found himself at the centre of controversy over his comments after the match.

As Celtic’s James Forrest scored a great second goal to clinch the game, Boyd’s immediate reaction was to question the legality of the goal, hinting at a possible handball.
The goal, which came after Forrest regained possession and sliced through the Dundee defence to score through the keeper’s legs, was briefly reviewed by VAR and upheld. Yet, instead of highlighting the winger’s resilience and skill, Boyd speculated on a potential handball, overshadowing the moment of brilliance.
After the match when looking back at the goal, Boyd started: “Is there a handball in there? I’m just checking.”
James McFadden, also providing analysis for Sky Sports, interjected, pushing Boyd to recognize the quality of Forrest’s finish. “Do you not just want to talk about how good a finish it is? You finally get a good goal and you’re looking for a handball,” McFadden said.
Boyd defensively replied, “I was just looking to see if there was one. Just asking the question.”
🗣️ "He definitely brings something different, he just gets on with his job."
🗣️ "He put in a top performance today given he rarely plays… The other wingers are unpredictable."

Having watched the footage closely I can’t see the potential handball, but yet, Boyd was just trying to be the centre of attention and try to cast doubt over what turned out to be the winning goal.
