Kolo Toure Namechecks Celtic in Four Four Two Interview

KOLO TOURE has come out in an interview and revealed one of the best atmospheres he’s played in throughout his storied career was Celtic Park.

Specifically, the former Hoops defender and coach recalled the Manchester City game where the two clubs fought it out to an enthralling 3-3 draw in the Champions League.

Kolo was part of that side and was in awe of the atmosphere created by the Celtic support.

Speaking about his time at Celtic to FourFourTwo, Koplo looks back very fondly:

“Celtic was a fantastic experience. It’s another club with a history of winning matches and winning trophies. Going there was a big challenge, because you have to win every game, but I enjoyed it.

“I remember drawing 3-3 with City in the Champions League [in 2016]. I was quite leggy and old, but we managed to get a terrific result. The atmosphere was unbelievable. I think the greatest I’ve ever experienced in my career was in Scotland at Celtic Park.”

Kolo played a short time on the field for Celtic but became a character behind the scenes when he was appointed coach at the club under Brendan Rodgers.

When the Irishman left for Leicester he took all his staff with him and Kolo headed back down south with the Irishman.

Celtic fans will always remember the fun we had with that annoying but infectious Kolo Toure chant. The videos of Celtic players doing it in the dressing room while Kolo danced along was particularly amusing.

Celtic are missing characters from their dressing room at this moment in time, let’s hope we have some new faces come in next season to bring a bit of life back to this squad.
