Kolo Toure Makes Celtic’s Champions League Squad

Kolo Toure could make his Celtic debut on Wednesday against FC Astana as the bhoys look to progress to the playoff round of the Champions League.

At the pre-match press conference, Brendan Rodgers confirmed that the newest Celtic signing would be in the squad but didn’t confirm if he would start.

“Kolo will be in the squad. He has trained well since coming in. I’m confident he can play a part tomorrow.” said the Celtic manager.

Kolo is still lacking in fitness but Celtic’s defensive crises could force the manager’s hand.

Erik Sviatchenko is still out and will play no part in tomorrow’s proceedings and Rodgers also told the media that Nir Bitton is a major doubt. However, Stefan Johansen is back in contention.

It’s a massive night for Celtic and everyone will have to be at their best to make sure they get a result. Not so long ago Kolo Toure was the man of the match in a European final so his experience could be invaluable.
