Kieran Tierney’s Celtic Regret

Kieran Tierney spoke to Bt Sport Extra on Hogmanay and spoke a lot about his former club.

The FA Cup winner has been gone for two seasons now and remains Celtic’s most expensive sale.

Speaking about the club’s start to the season, Kieran thinks the bhoys can turn things around. He also backed Neil Lennon and admitted a regret about leaving when he did.

“Obviously it’s not been the best of starts, but there’s a long way to go. I’m still confident.

“I think Neil’s the right man. One of my regrets in football is I only got a few months to work with him – because I loved it. Unfortunately, I was injured for a while, but he was brilliant for me. He made you feel brilliant going out on to the pitch, feeling like you could beat anyone.

“I think that’s the sort of manager the players need right now, with confidence in them and the team. I think he can do it.”

Neil Lennon has come under intense pressure. The run of games which seen us battered from pillar to post, getting knocked out of two competitions with ease and falling behind in the title race have people questioning the Irishman.

Kieran believes the manager is the right man for the job.

When the Irishman started his second stint with the club, Kieran was there and did manage to play a few games under him. However, that summer, Arsenal came calling and Kieran decided to move on.

Since going to London he has the highs of winning the FA Cup and the lows of league results this season which has put his own manager, Mikel Arteta under pressure.
