Kieran Tierney Weighing Up Arsenal Exit; Celtic Sell On Clause

Former Celtic defender Kieran Tierney is rumoured to be wanted by Premier League big spenders Newcastle United [The Scotsman].

The Scotland international has found that his game time under Mikel Arteta has been limited having only started four Premier League matches this season. He has not been a huge part of the Gunners title charge having lost his place to Oleksandr Zinchenko who joined the club from title rivals Manchester City during the summer.

His contract isn’t up at The Emirates until 2026 but it is now becoming increasingly likely that he will depart the north London club in the summer.

Football can all be about timing and although Tierney has had a decent 4 years down south since departing the Hoops, it looks as though he will seek a fresh challenge.

The quoted transfer fee is around £30 million which would be a welcome summer bonus for Ange Postecoglou as the Scottish champions have a reported 15% sell-on clause for the defender [SunSport] meaning that a move could almost bag Celtic £5 million.

Newcastle have recruited well under Eddie Howe and will face off against Manchester United in the final of the Caraboa Cup on Sunday afternoon/

Kieran Trippier was brought into the club last year and both fullbacks would make a formidable pairing for the Magpies but some Hoops fans would love to see the former Celtic academy graduate head to European football.
