Kieran Tierney Update

NEIL LENNON has given a fresh update on Kieran Tierney and where the player’s at in his Celtic recovery.

The defender had a double hernia operation over the summer to fix a problem which had been plaguing him for a lot of last season. Kieran went under the knife soon after the final game of the season so he could have as much time to prepare and recover for this upcoming campaign.

However, it appears his recovery will overlap for a bit with the Celtic manager explaining Keiran is still in discomfort around the area and is not yet in a position to train and become match fit.

This will rule the left back out of many of the Champions League qualifiers and you have to think the young lad will be a doubt for Flag day at Celtic Park August 3rd.

“KT is still having problems with the pubic injury, we will need to get to the bottom of that.” Lennon told CelticTV.

“In terms of the double hernia, that’s all sorted. But he’s still saying he’s a bit sore to start running.

“I don’t think it gets any worse but there’s just a constant dull pain there.

“Eventually. You can mature out of it. I have seen that. But right now, he still feels a lot of discomfort with it.

“The rest won’t do him any harm at all. He will benefit from it. We don’t want him to be out for too long but we need to get him right.

“He now has some competition in Boli Mbombo too, so that means he can step in. That might take the weight off him a bit.”
