Derby week is reaching its climax with Celtic set to head to Ibrox in just two days for the biggest game of the season to date.
The upcoming top-of-the-table clash is the talk of the town and rightly so. Given the situation at the Scottish Premiership’s summit going into the campaign’s closing stages, the match has significant consequences.
Indeed, former Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, who played in countless derbies during his time at the club, has weighed in on this weekend’s game.

The left-back thinks his old team have what it takes to win on the pitch and in the dugout, they have a manager who can help see them through. “It promises to be an incredible match”, he told SunSport.
“I really hope for a Celtic win, but I know how difficult it is going to Ibrox. It will be even tougher without any fans.
“But they have done it before — and I’ve got every faith in them.
“Brendan’s a great manager who has a fantastic derby record. He knows what it takes to win at Ibrox.”
When he played for Celtic, Tierney lost against Rangers just once, back in 2016 in the Scottish Cup semi-finals. While on the park since then, his record in Glasgow derbies was impeccable.
Real Sociedad are in action this Sunday but the treble-treble winner will still keep a close eye on proceedings at Ibrox in the hope that his boyhood club can work their way to another pivotal derby win.
