Kieran Tierney Answers Celtic Return Question

As the summer transfer window prepares to open, speculation around Kieran Tierney’s future intensifies, with recent reports suggesting his potential availability for as little as £10 million—a significant drop from previous valuations.

The former Celtic star, who has found himself on the fringes at Arsenal, could be on his way out as the Gunners look to reshape their squad.

Tierney, a product of Celtic’s youth system, has not been formally linked with a return to his boyhood club. However, the reduced asking price may make a reunion more appealing, particularly under Brendan Rodgers, who is eager to add both quality and experience to his lineup.

In a discussion about the possibility of returning to Celtic, Tierney expressed a cautious openness to the idea, talking about his desire to return only if he feels physically prepared to meet the high demands of the club.

“If I go back, I want to be feeling how I did there before,” Tierney said to The Athletic.

“I’ll be a different player to what I was, as I’ve been away for years, but I wouldn’t want to go back if I wasn’t feeling 100 per cent in my body.

“I know the intensity and the demand to win so, if I go back, it will be when I’m still feeling good.”

He’s struggled with fitness these past few years but Kieran Tierney did impress in Spain with Real Sociedad. As things stand, a Celtic return doesn’t look too likely this window, but as September gets closer and if Tierney is still at Arsenal, never say never.
