‘Kidding Themselves On’ – Ange Puts Beale and Johnson in Their Place

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has absolutely rinsed both Michael Beale and Lee Johnson for their attempts to devalue Celtic’s success under him.

Last month we had Beale claiming Ange was ‘lucky’ because Celtic are a well run club and are able to spend money.

Hibs manager Lee Johnson then claimed it was ‘too easy’ to be the Celtic manager domestically.

Ange took great offence to the insinuation the Hoops don’t work hard for what they achieve.

Speaking to SunSport, Ange said: “Every manager is allowed to use their platform in any way they want and say what they want. I don’t think it’s accidental that the words “lucky” and “easy” are used.

“They aren’t words that I would use to describe any manager.

“If you are in this job, irrespective of anything, the one thing you know is it’s not easy.

“If people think I come in here at midday, spend a couple of hours, have a cappuccino and then go home to the family, they are kidding themselves on.

“I think they know that. The use of those words is probably deliberate.

“That’s fine. If that is what people believe, they are allowed to do that.

“What I know is that within this building, nothing comes easy for us.

“We need to work hard, and there are a lot of expectations on the players and the staff every day.

“That’s what we do and whether that impresses others or doesn’t, the only thing we care about is our supporters — and they are pretty happy with how we are going.

“It’s pretty much known that we are playing under huge pressure every week.

“If other people think that’s easy in some way, that’s their opinion.”

It’s not a coincidence the comments in question come from two mediocre, loudmouth, English managers.

Lee Johnson would crumble in the Celtic hot seat, he can barely manage Hibernian. Michael Beale has spent more time in Glasgow than Ange and the Celtic manager has two more trophies than him.

It’s all about deflecting and making excuses for these managers. Ange doesn’t accept excuses and he demands the very best from his team every day in training.

Celtic dominating Scottish football does all sorts of things to people in this country. We’ve had pundits claiming Ange and his team shouldn’t celebrate when they beat a team with a smaller budget. Ange knows what to expect from this lot and he eloquently but firmly puts people in their place when they want to attempt to take their pound of flesh.
