Former Celtic and Rangers player Kenny Miller has identified Motherwell’s young midfielder, Lennon Miller, as a potential acquisition for either of the Glasgow giants in the upcoming January transfer window.
The 17-year-old has made a significant impact in the Scottish Premiership, leading to speculation about his future. However, he has recently signed a new deal with the Lanarkshire side.
Miller shared his thoughts on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard. He acknowledged Lennon Miller’s impressive performances for Motherwell, despite his youth and relative inexperience. With 14 appearances this season before being sidelined due to a fractured patella, Miller has demonstrated his potential, leaving a noticeable gap in Stuart Kettlewell’s squad during his absence.
“The one that kind of stands out for me at the moment, but he’s still very, very young with few games under his belt, is the lad Lennon Miller at Motherwell.
“I still think if he was to be signed by either of the Old Firm, it would be more of one of those projects because he’s not been in the first-team long enough to go and show what he can do. He’s still very young as well. Rangers and Celtic over the years have definitely just handpicked the best players in the league but they seem to have moved away from that in the last ten years or so.”

Having watched him play a few times, he has impressed, however, coming to Celtic wouldn’t be the best move for his career at the moment.
The Hoops are stacked in the middle of the park and don’t have a good track record of giving young players a platform to perform in recent years.
He just has to look at Lewis Ferguson and Aaron Hickey, who have moved abroad to take the next step in their career, or even former teammate Max Johnston, who joined Strum Graz in the summer.
