Miller expressed his frustration with VAR, blaming the technology for what he sees as an undue influence on the game’s natural flow.

Miller said: “I’m of the mindset that when VAR gets involved with it I understand why it’s a red card. I’ve had time to look at it and see. My frustration isn’t with the decision, it’s with VAR. It spoils games. I still believe in the point I made right after the game, if VAR wasn’t involved in our game there wouldn’t be complaints at a yellow. That’s where I stand on it

“VAR gets involved in it and it slows the tackle down. Lundstram has to run quick, he’s sliding. If you see what happens to players, they plant their foot in the direction of where the players are coming, which is what Alistair Johnston did, then Lundtram goes right through the back of his calf.”

He was pressed by Kenny MacIntyre “So it has to be a red then?”

He responded: “I don’t like the situation we’re put in with VAR because when. You see it in real time you think yellow. But when you slow it down and see the freeze frame and the contact.”

Macyntre then asked if the “right decision was made in the end”

Kenny responded: “The bottom line for me is VAR I can’t go it.”

It seems as if Miller is trying to shoot some of the blame for the shocking challenge on Alistair Johnston.

Despite Miller’s stance, other analysts, including former Rangers star Kris Boyd, have acknowledged the red card was warranted based on the nature of Lundstram’s challenge.

Even Clement agreed that the decision was the correct one.

It’s in these instances where you see the benefits of VAR. The right decision was made, and the game continued with Rangers down to 10 men. The biggest teller of it all was Lundstram’s reaction, he didn’t even plead his innocence as he walked down the tunnel.

Celtic strolled to a 2-1 win, and In all honesty, it should’ve been more. The Hoops were comfortable, despite the nervy ending when Rangers were putting high and long balls into the Celtic defence relentlessly.
