Karamoko Contract Breakthrough

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has revealed that the club and Karamoko are set to meet and discuss the player’s future. The meeting will determine what is best for the club and the player.

The manager is keen to keep the player at Celtic, admitting he was looking forward to coaching the player this season, but the injury inflicted onto Karamoko in pre-season has deprived him of the opportunity.

The English youth internationalist made his first appearance of the season against St Mirren, with the Aussie boss set to give the winger more opportunities as the season progresses.

Speaking today, Ange said; [Celtic TV]

‘With those sort of things [contract renewals], it’s kind of a two-way thing. That’ll depend on Karamoko himself and where he sees his future. We’ll sit down at the appropriate time with him and try to map out what’s best for him and what he thinks is best for him, then we’ll come to a decision.’

The winger was one of Celtic’s high rated youth players, playing with the reserve squad at the age of 13.

The club will look to tie the player down to a long-term deal; whether the player agrees to this is a different matter.

The winger has had one foot out the door for a while now, but he may think twice before leaving with Ange leading the team. The attacking football will be attractive, and he is still young.
