NIR BITTON was handed the captain’s armband on Thursday night as he led a young Celtic side to a 3-2 victory over Real Betis in the Europa League.
The match didn’t have any real consequences so Ange opted to play a much changed side and they made their mark.
Nir played well and continues to show he can be a much better player for Celtic in his midfield position rather than at centre back.
Asked about his role as captain on the night, Nir quipped: “One game, One win, just give me it [The captaincy].

Last night we asked Celtic's Nir Bitton how much he enjoyed his role as captain during their 3-2 win over Real Betis

Nir is approaching ten years at Celtic and will be due a testimonial next year. It’s crazy to think the Israeli has been in Glasgow that long.
He flies under the radar a lot and between injuries and only being used as a back up centre back through the years, we’ve not seen a lot of him at times.
He has acquitted himself well in midfield as of late.
