Celtic defender Josip Juranovic has opened up on conversations with ex Hoops favourite Artur Boruc before completing his move to Parkhead in the summer.
The 26-year old arrived in Glasgow last summer, after signing for a fee in the region of £2.5 million from Polish League side Legia Warsaw.
During his time in Poland, the Croatian internationalist was teammates with former Celtic fans favourite Artur Boruc, who he was pictured with just days before making the move to join Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Speaking in a fans question and answer session on the Hoops social media channel, Juranovic opened up on what Boruc had to say on moving to Celtic, with the old number one having a glowing reference for the Bhoys.
“He said this opportunity to play for Celtic was one I needed to take. He said I would love it here because of the fans and the city.”

Many fans will, of course, remember Boruc’s five years with the club, becoming a fans favourite and earning the nickname ‘the holy goalie’.
It has only been a short time for Juranovic with the Hoops, but he is doing a good job to grow his relationship with the supporters, thanks to his performances on the park, including an impressive display in Wednesday’s derby victory.
Fingers crossed, there is even more to come from the full-back, in a similar fashion to Boruc, who is still remembered fondly to this day by fans.
