Juranovic Given Croatia World Cup Call-Up

Celtic fullback Josip Juranovic has been selected as part of Croatia’s World Cup squad for Qatar [Celtic FC].

The 27-year old joined the Scottish champions last summer from Legia Warsaw and instantly made an impact in Glasgow.

He was undoubtedly one of the standout signings made by Ange Postecoglou and has grown from strength to strength while at the Hoops.

Before his arrival, he was already an established international for Croatia but has become a mainstay in their side having played almost every Nations League game which included a standout performance against current World champions, France.

Juranovic is versatile for his country and has played at both left and right back for the Croats and is very likely to start all three of his countries matches in Group F against Belgium, Canada and Morocco.

Croatia will be a favourite to progress in knockout stages of the tournament meaning he could be away for longer which suits Celtic financially as they will be paid for it.

They have been a side which have done fairly well in recent years of progressing to the later stages of the international tournaments which could mean that there is potential for Juranovic missing the first game back against Aberdeen in December.

The former Legia defender will join Daizen Maeda, Aaron Mooy and likely Cameron Carter-Vickers at the tournament.
