Celtic won 2-0 against Alkmaar, a result that even three weeks ago would have felt a million miles away.
At the beginning of pre-season we were every bit a team bereft of direction and confidence. We know there’s a bumpy road ahead and everything won’t be smooth but Ange has gave us one hell of a boost since coming into the club.
The Australian got off to a slow start but as he gets more time with the players he’s becoming more in tune with them and what he wants from the bhoys.
The result against Alkmaar should not be under estimated but as usual, we have a blow hard on the mainstream media telling us we shouldn’t be delighted with the result because of our wage bill.
If we don’t beat Alkmaar the same journalist would be on our case, when we win, we get a patronising pat on the head and told, ‘well you should have won’, it’s pathetic.
Celtic have improved quickly and have momentum. But.. also a wage bill of circa £50m.. victory over the third best team in The Netherlands is now portrayed as seismic as they chase the Europa League.

Celtic are going through a huge rebuild and to get a result like Wednesday night’s can’t be underestimated so early in the rebuild.
