Well-renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano confirms that rumoured Celtic target James McAtee is more likely to be heading to the Bundesliga.

Celtic had reportedly reignited their interest in the Man City youth product in December but were facing competition from a number of clubs across Europe.
Celtic have had a positive history in signing players from Manchester City in the past including Olivier Ntcham, Jason Denayer and Patrick Robert’s.
The 22-year-old midfielder has only made 10 appearances for Man City this season, including a three-goal contribution to the 8-0 victory against League Two side Salford City at the weekend. (Transfermarkt)
However, the Italian journalist reports that Germany is the young midfielder’s most probable destination, with 4 German clubs interested in the player:
🚨🇩🇪 Bundesliga’s the most likely destination for James McAtee as several clubs want him now.

If the player decides to leave the Premiership and move to Bundesliga, the 22 year old Englishman will be following the trend of various young English talent now playing in Germany’s top flight.
Having someone of McAtee’s quality at Celtic would’ve been great, but he looks destined for a good move to one of Europe’s top leagues.
Celtic has been linked to a few midfielders this window, but the priority remains on the wings and at left-back.
Kieran Tierney looks like he could be signing a pre-contract agreement with the Hoops, while a loan offer may be made at the end of the month.
There isn’t really a lot of movement in terms of incoming on the wings, with Luis Palma set for an exit to La Liga.
