Jota’s move from Saudi Arabia to West Ham has fallen through, despite reports suggesting that everything had been agreed.

Initial reports from Saudi Arabia had indicated that Jota agreed to a significant move to West Ham. His high salary demands and complex tax implications did create stumbling blocks.
Marcelo Gallardo, the manager of Al-Ittihad, included Jota in his latest squad for the Saudi Pro League. This inclusion effectively ends any speculation about a transfer to West Ham.
He’ll be hoping for a change in fortunes, with his first six months away from Celtic not working out. Some wishful Celtic fans had been hoping that he could make a return to the club, but this was never on the cards after his summer exit.
As things stand, he’ll stay in Saudi until at least the summer.
