Celtic had a tough start to the season last year, struggling to get the results that they had hoped for.
It was tough for the squad, who had to show a strong mentality to get through the tricky spell, but it was worth it in the end, lifting the domestic double.
Everyone has their own turning point in the season when they feel they could believe they could go on to win the league.
Speaking to the Fan Media on Friday, with CeltsAreHere in attendance, Jota opened up on the game when Celtic “clicked”, saying;
“We clicked at Real Betis away. That was the game we thought, ‘Okay, we can really play this way, and we can fight against the best teams. If we do what we did that night, we can do much better in the future.’
“Then it’s just believing in Ange’s ideas and every coach. After that, we thought to ourselves ‘let’s do this’ but we all needed to believe. If one never believed this won’t be good.
“The end product is there, that shows we believed.”
Despite losing the game 3-2, there were many positive signs. Ange focussed on the performance rather than the result, which was a hard one to take.
Jota played on the right that game and starred throughout the match. We’d seen his quality in his few games before, but in Seville, he showed fans just how good a player he is.
