Former Celtic winger Jota has been seen at Estadio Nacional in Lisbon, while speculation about his future is rife.

The 24-year-old, who moved to Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia last season in a £25 million deal, was warmly greeted by fans who were also visiting the historic stadium.
Jota was happy to engage with fans, posing for pictures outside the iconic Lisbon stadium. This encounter was posted by X user Kouassi’s Mohican, who mentioned that while Jota still loves Celtic, his return to the Scottish club remains uncertain.

Of course – he said I’m not sure, but I love you guys – which isn’t a no 🍀

Despite hopes from Celtic fans for a return, financial and logistical challenges make such a move unlikely. Celtic may not be able to meet the financial demands, and the tax implications for Jota would be considerable. It seems the possibility of him wearing the Celtic jersey again is remote, as the player has moved on to a different phase in his career. But then again, if he rally wanted to pull on the green and white again, he could.
