Jota Admits It’s ‘A Privilege’ To Be Part Of This Celtic Squad
Celtic star Jota has hailed his Hoops teammates after they defeated St Johnstone 4-1 in Perth to retain their nine point advantage at the top of the league table.
The Hoops set about Callum Davidson’s side in the first half and were 3-1 up heading into the break which all but put the game to bed.
Although the former Benfica youth graduate was not on the scoresheet for Ange Postecoglou’s side, he had some fantastic moments throughout the match.
Jota assisted Celtic’s second and third goal and came very close to scoring what could have been a contender for goal of the season, only to be denied by the woodwork.
The 23-year-old has had yet another strong season under Postecoglou and looked to be back to his very best on Sunday despite the poor McDiarmid Park surface.
So far this season, the Portuguese winger has racked up seven goals and eight assists in 23 league appearances and will be looking to end the season on a high. He isn’t one for taking too much credit as he gave a special mention to his Celtic teammates.
“It’s definitely a good time for me, but I think that happens because the team is supporting me and helping me,” said Jota speaking to [Celtic TV].
“So, a shout-out to them because it’s been a privilege to be in the dressing room with such amazing team-mates and football players.
“I just want to continue to develop and enjoy – and I’m really happy.”

“There are different situations and you just need to acknowledge what’s the best decision on the pitch.
“Sometimes you need to do different stuff to break through their defence, and we just tried to do that.
“That’s something we try to work on every day. We don’t think long-term, we think in the present and we just want to be better.
“We know there’s still plenty of room to develop and we can’t wait for the future to be better and just to being the results to our fans.”
The Celtic squad are firmly concentrating on one game at a time and won’t be distracted as their main focus is to once again win the league title.
As the final of the Viaplay Cup is only a matter of weeks away, every player will want to try and impress the manager to be considered to start the match at the national stadium.
