Jota – Good News and Bad News

Jota missed Celtic’s win over Dundee Utd on Sunday after pulling up against Hearts on Thursday night.

He winger has been a sensation since joining the club from Benfica on-loan at the end of August.

The player has quickly become a fan favourite with supporters desperate for the club to take up their first option on the player.

We’ll start with the good news then; Sky Sports man Anthony Joseph has confirmed the club plan to trigger Jota’s £6.5m transfer clause at the END OF THE SEASON. The bhoys have been delighted with the midfielder and are looking to bring him in for what looks like a bargain price.

The bad news; Jota will be missing for a number of weeks and is likely to miss the cup final and could also miss the Glasgow Derby at the start of 2022 if he doesn’t recover in time from a hamstring issue.

It’s a massive blow for the team, even though they did well in his absence against Dundee Utd.
