Reports have suggested that Celtic’s pursuit of Legia Warsaw right-back Josip Juranovic aren’t quite dead just yet.
Yesterday afternoon, a Polish journalist claimed that the deal was off after the latest developments claimed that talks had broken down between the clubs.
However, Croatian journalist Ižak Ante Sučić, who first broke the news of Celtic’s links with Juranovic, has claimed that the deal isn’t quite dead just yet despite the Hoops looking elsewhere for right-back options.
💥BOOOM!💥
🔔Update: As per our sources, deal is still not off, but there was a big hit. Verbally @CelticFC board agreed on one price, but then their formal offer was a lot smaller then expected. Both Juranovic and @LegiaWarszawa were interested, but this changes everything.(1/2) https://t.co/s0obRLFLJq— Ižak Ante Sučić (@IASucic) August 13, 2021
The report states that a deal was verbally agreed upon between the two sides. However, the formal offer was ‘a lot smaller than expected’. It also states that Celtic are in a hurry to add a right-back option and are now looking into possible ‘cheaper’ deals.
At this stage of the window, not many fans would have probably expected a right-back to be some of the business we were looking to do this far down the line.
Despite Tony Ralston’s uptake in form, Postecoglou is still in desperate need of another option in that area of the field.
