Speaking ahead of Celtic’s trip to Pittodrie on Saturday Ange Postecoglou revealed a timeline of when Josip Juranovic will be able to join up with his Hoops teammates.
The Croatian international will be able to catch some of the clash against Aberdeen before his national side take on Morocco in the World Cup third place play-off match.
He was a standout in the match against Brazil and it will be great for the team to welcome him back to the fold having been away for so long but it looks as though his playing time at the tournament is over.
“My understanding is that he is not going to play tomorrow, at the same time I don’t think it’s anything serious,” Ange Postecoglou told Celts Are Here.
“We’ll give him a week off anyway, we’ve done that with all the World Cup lads. We’ll give him a week off once he’s finished his commitments and hopefully he’s right to go when we get back.”
The defender has been linked with a number of teams in recent weeks as rumours about his future continue with it likely that Juranovic will leave Celtic at some point soon.
With this update from Ange, Anthony Ralston will need to step up and perform which he has once again done already this season having made 14 appearances for the Hoops.
Juranovic will not now be available for selection until the match away to Hibs at Easter Road but it is unknown whether the manager would want to risk him as he is a prized asset who may be sold during the winter transfer window.
