Celtic are looking forward to a new era under Brendan Rodgers.
The club couldn’t be in a better position heading into the 2023/24 season having just completed a domestic clean sweep for a world record eighth time.
Assistant manager John Kennedy, though, is not one for resting on success.
He stated that any sense of jubilation from the previous campaign has to be left behind.
Kennedy said (Celtic FC):
“That celebration has to be parked and you have to make sure you’re striving to do what you can again to be successful as you can be”
We know that there are ridiculously high standards at Celtic and Kennedy’s comments are yet another example of this.
Furthermore, the Scot was emphatic when speaking about how Celtic’s pre season will start, saying there will be no time to mess around:
“We’ll be straight in, the foot will go down and we’ll charge on.”
Celtic still have a month before competitive action resumes but that does not mean the intensity of training won’t be high.

Rodgers will ensure his players are in in optimum condition for when football returns and his interview, Kennedy was full of praise for the Irishman, revealing he’s kept in close touch with Rodgers after he left Celtic:
“He’s one who I’ve kept in close contact with.
“He’ll enhance the whole process, he’s got tremendously high standards.
“It’s great for the club to have him back.”
Rodgers is clearly held in high regard by many at Celtic, including his assistant.
This is only positive and because of this, natural respect for him will be shown by his players.
Several benefits then come from this which will assuredly breed success.
