John Kennedy Lifts Lid On Lennoxtown Mood

Spirits are high among Celtic supporters following the Hoops’ professional 3-0 victory over Livingston on Easter Sunday.

A Jamie Brandon own goal early in the second half got the visitors going before Paulo Bernardo and Matt O’Riley added to Livi’s woes.

After the victory that sent The Bhoys back to the summit of the Scottish Premiership, full focus turns to this Sunday’s Glasgow derby.

The Celts travel to Ibrox at midday in a blockbuster title showdown. Speaking after yesterday’s impressive win, John Kennedy revealed that the league leaders’ training facility at Lennoxtown is one of the most relaxed places in the country.

The 40-year-old led Celtic in the dugout at Almondvale amid Brendan Rodgers’ touchline ban. Post-match, he spoke out. “I’m not just saying this, it’s probably the calmest place in Scotland, inside our training ground”, revealed Kennedy (BBC Scotland via Glasgow Times).

“We know it’s about the sessions we do and the preparation we put in.  The reality is we just have to take each day as it comes and make sure we prepare properly.

“We know when we’re fully prepared and we’re at it, which we have been in the last little while, we know we will go there in good spirits and go and attack the game as we always do.”

With a growing number of key players developing full fitness and performances beginning to take a turn for the better, Celtic fans have a growing sense of encouragement going into the top-of-the-table match-up.

Kennedy, however, will ensure the players remain grounded. He said: “The thing is, if you get caught up too early in the week and allow the emotion to set in too early, that’s draining.

“For us, it’s about keeping calm, controlling what we can control which is the training and then when next weekend comes, we’ll deal with that.”
