The future of Celtic ‘keeper Joe Hart has been addressed by manager Brendan Rodgers. The Englishman’s contract at Parkhead is due to expire this summer, although the gaffer has revealed there will be talks held regarding his future soon.
Many think the Hoops could do with a new number one, but Hart could yet stay: “I love working with Joe, he’s a great guy”, said the manager (Football Scotland). “Hopefully he continues. We haven’t spoken about it. At that age, I think he’s just happy to be playing. So we’ll have a chat – him and I – towards the end of the season.”

In the 2023/24 season to date, Hart has started almost every game for Celtic. At the minute, the veteran ‘keeper seems irreplaceable between the sticks by anyone in the squad.
He has little competition for the gloves, though, with Scott Bain long labelled as a reliable backup by Rodgers and Benjamin Siegrist keen for an exit.
Across two and a half years in Glasgow so far, Hart has made 133 appearances in green and white. He has provided stability in goal, but many believe it is time for an upgrade.
There seemed to be concrete interest from the champions in Croatia stopper Dominik Livakovic last summer but other than that, no ‘keepers have been linked to Parkhead of late. It doesn’t seem likely one will be brought in this month but when the off-season comes around again, things could well change.
