Joe Hart to Celtic Latest

CELTIC are in the market for a goalkeeper on the eve of the new season beginning.

The bhoys will make their way through to Edinburgh on Saturday to face the returning Hearts who were promoted from the Championship last term.

It’s likely going to be Scott Bain in goals for the first tie of the season – it beggars belief when Celtic fans knew we needed a new goalkeeper back in January.

Out of necessity, many, including myself, tried to get on the Barkas bus. I was an advocate of the goalkeeper getting the gloves and showing what he can do after a poor debut season for the club.

However, after the howler against Midtjylland and his subsequent performance against West Ham, any faith which was placed in him evaporated fast.

Celtic are keen on bringing Joe Hart to the club to fill the position. The 34-year-old has been playing backup at Spurs last season but is looking to move on.

RecordSport are now reporting Spurs want £1m for their goalkeeper – if they’re to let him leave this summer. Affordable for Celtic but will they insist on a lower fee because he really is surplus to requirements in London?

Joe might not be the full time answer but he might just have enough to put Celtic back in the picture this term.
