With the signing of Joe Hart, Ange Postecoglou and the Celtic support will hope that we can finally get over our goalkeeping nightmare of the last 12 months.
Now, the club has five goalkeeper options on the books, so you would imagine it has opened the door for at least one to make their exit this summer.
This question is, what goalkeeper will that be?
Two of the more ‘senior’ options between the sticks for the Hoops are currently Vasilias Barkas and Scott Bain.
But as fans know, it has been a bit of a disaster for both last season and continuing into the early stages of this campaign too.
Joining last summer, Barkas was expected to be the replacement for the outgoing Fraser Forster. It has FAR from worked out that way, though.
Bain has been part of the first team for a longer period of time. But he has also failed to live up to the standards of a goalkeeper at Celtic.
You would imagine that at least one of the two of them will leave the club this window. My feeling suggests that may be Barkas after a disastrous year or so in Glasgow.
Whether that is permanently or on loan remains to be seen.
As well as those two, the club has younger prospects on the books and currently part of the first-team squad.
Conor Hazard and Ross Doohan have been linked with loan moves to Dundee and Tranmere Rovers this summer.
The signing of Hart has also opened the door for one of those two to make a temporary exit that is likely to take place in the coming weeks.
Whilst Hart may not be the long-term fix we are looking for at Celtic, one thing all fans will be hoping for is at least in the short term; he can be somewhat reliable as Ange Postecoglou’s number one.
