JOE HART is gearing up for Champions League football six years after he last played in the competition.
The English goalkeeper helped Celtic to a famous title win in the 21/22 season and as a result, Celtic will be playing in the Champions League this season.
Joe has been in the competition with Manchester City in the past and revealed his last outing in the competition was a semi-final of the Europe’s elite football competition against Real Madrid.
Speaking to The Daily Record, the Celtic goalkeeper said: “Getting into the Champions League with Man City when we had never done that before was a big achievement. Then we went from playing in it to competing in it. We got to the semi-final one year. The last time I was in the Champions League was 2016, and the semi-final against Real Madrid was my last game.

“The Champions League doesn’t exclude you, either get in it or you don’t. We’ve earned the right this year, so we’re going to look to build on the fact we’ve earned that right and compete in it.
“We’re in a business where money exists, so you don’t moan about it, we get on with it. We’ve built the best possible squad we can with the best mentality, and we’re going to play the best team football that we possibly can. However that ends, it ends with us walking in being proud of what we’ve done.”
Joe has earned the right to be Celtic’s number one going into the group stage of the Champions League.
The Englishman has been a breath of fresh air on and off the park. The bhoys in green will need a lot of luck and a bit of magic from the former England international if Celtic is to pull off some memorable results.
The draw for the group stage of the competition is on August 25th. An exiting date for the diary for all Celtic supporters out there.
Ange Postecoglou will be making his managerial debut in the Champions League. It will be a learning curve for the gaffer as well as some of the new players.
Joe might have thought the chance to play in the competition again had passed him by. His revival at Celtic has been brilliant for Joe and the Hoops.
