Former Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart made a noteworthy appearance as a pundit during the Euro 2024 match between Scotland and Switzerland, offering a refreshingly positive perspective on the game.

Watching his former Celtic teammates Callum McGregor and Anthony Ralston in action, Hart focused on the positives, contrasting sharply with some of the more critical commentary that night.
Hart’s approach was a stark departure from that of Neil McCann, who provided commentary for BBC Scotland. McCann has rightly faced criticism for his negative analysis, particularly towards McGregor, even during moments deserving praise like McGregor’s crucial assist to Scott McTominay. Rather than acknowledging McGregor’s skilful play, McCann seemed to criticise the weight on the ball.
Towards the end, Calmac played a wonderful ball through to Andy Robertson, but instead of praising that, it was the run of the Liverpool fullback that was praised.
In the studio, Hart brought an upbeat and supportive tone, highlighting the strengths and efforts of the Scottish team. His demeanour and insightful comments provided viewers with a balanced and hopeful outlook, especially in light of Scotland’s chances to progress in the tournament.
The retired keeper expressed confidence in Scotland’s ability to win their upcoming match against Hungary, a victory that could potentially secure their spot in the last 16.
It was good seeing him on our screens, and hopefully, there are more appearances lined up for the future.
