Jobless Scottish Manager Reveals Upcoming Celtic Visit

Jobless Scottish football manager Ian Murray has an upcoming visit to Celtic.

The 43-year-old, who was surprisingly sacked by Raith Rovers at the beginning of this season, is looking to get back into the game.

Murray spent over 100 games in charge of Raith, helping them reach the Scottish Premiership play-off final last campaign. They lost to Ross County, and after a sub-par start to the 2024/25 season, he was swiftly removed from his post and replaced by Neill Collins.

Now, following a lengthy break from football and spending time with his family, Murray wants a new job and will soon visit Celtic to see how they operate.

“I’ve been very fortunate to be so well looked after by football guys, in Scotland in particular but also beyond, which means I’ve got a busy couple of weeks coming up,” he said (Edinburgh Evening News).

I’m looking to learn a bit more. I’m going to go into Celtic this week, hopefully, which will be great.”

In a visit to Lennoxtown, Murray will get an insight into the elite standards at which Brendan Rodgers operates.

The Irishman never shies away from helping young managers and will once more do so with Murray.

Funnily enough, the former Raith boss could be going up against Celtic legend and Rodgers’ old skipper, Scott Brown, for the vacant St. Johnstone post.

The Ayr United gaffer will soon hold talks with the Perth side, but Murray is openly interested in the job, too.

Celtic fans will keep a keen eye on who the club appoint, with the Hoops set to visit McDiarmid Park this Saturday.
