Japanese Squad Announced; Bad News for Celtic

Celtic have been dealt another blow ahead of the Glasgow derby and the next run of games.

Kyogo is out injured and now Daizen Maeda has been called up to the Japan squad leaving Giakoumakis as our only fit and available striker.

It’s a bit of a nightmare scenario. There was a chance Maeda wouldn’t have been called up had Kyogo been for to join the squad but now Celtic will have to navigate the Glasgow derby without bother front men.

Maeda scored four minutes into his debut and looked sharp while we all know know Kyogo’s qualities.

Hatate and Guchi weren’t called up to the Japanese squad, as it stands, Celtic only have Tom Rogic and Maeda away on international duty and don’t have the three players necessary to ask for a postponement.

Giakoumakis now has a chance to really show what he can do. If you can’t get goals with Jota and Hatate feeding you, then there’s something wrong.
