James Forrest Reveals Only Time He Had Uncertainty At Celtic

James Forrest is a Celtic legend. The Scottish winger has been at the club his whole career, winning 25 trophies in the process. He has also managed to surpass over 100 goals and 100 assists respectively.

Forrest has been a key asset for many managers throughout his prolonged spell in Glasgow. Transfer speculation has came and went although nothing has ever seemed concrete. The now 32-year-old, though, has recently revealed the only time he had doubts about his Hoops future.

When Brendan Rodgers came through the door at Celtic for the first time, there was mass change at the football club. At the time, Forrest initially had doubts over his future but they were soon quashed. He said (Football Scotland): “Maybe in my head the most uncertainty I’ve had was when the gaffer now was coming in to the club the first time. But then within a week I knew there was no questions on my side.”

Under Rodgers, Forrest excelled. He bagged his maiden derby goal in the Irishman’s first spell in charge along with numerous pieces of silverware and personal accolades. Rodgers undoubtedly helped the winger improve, along with several others: “There were other boys at that time who raised their game, and he got a lot out of them. He really brought everyone’s potential out of them. So with that in mind, I think it’s really good for the young boys here now that the gaffer has come back.”

We have only seen Celtic play twice this season although there have been some early indications over the players Rodgers has improved already in his second spell in charge of the club. Liel Abada has looked sharp in pre-season meanwhile Daizen Maeda has been at the top of his game. It is certain more players will improve and standout as the campaign goes on as at least according to Forrest, Rodgers gets the most out of his team.
