During last week‘s SWPL 10 defeat to Rangers, Sky Sports commentator Ian Crocker mentioned her relationship with Celtic men‘s player Carl Starfelt, who was in the stand, watching on as the Ghirls played their final Derby match of the league season. [Watch Here]

At the media day for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year awards, Jacynta stated that outlets should focus on the football and not her personal life, and requested the public not to pry into things that are her own concern.

She said: [SunSport]

“I think that the TV stations need to focus on the football and not my personal life.

“I don’t think my personal life is anything to do with the game and it did not need to be mentioned.

“It shouldn’t be everyone’s concern what I am doing in my personal life.

I want people to come along and help promote the women‘s game rather than worrying about what I am doing away from the pitch.

If you ask anyone who knows me, I am a very private person.

I would love people to come to the games to offer their support but not to pry into things that are of my own concern.

Jacynta is up for two awards for the Sunday ceremony. She’s been nominated for SWPL Player of the Season and the SWPL Young Player of the season award, after another impressive season with the Hoops.

She and her fellow teammates are relishing the chance of playing on the Celtic Park pitch in front of fans on Thursday night when the focus will be on the football and hopefully the three points.
