We reported earlier this afternoon Edouard could be set to stay at Celtic this summer after GFFN reported the player is in talks to sign a new bumper deal with the caveat Celtic will sell him at the end of next season.

It’s a bit of a stretch to have an agreement like that be as open and it could be just speculation from the usual suspects in France.

So is the deal possible?

Entirely.

Celtic don’t have to sell but we’ve seen in the last ten years the board get an itchy trigger finger when it comes to selling their prized assets at their peak price.

However, if Eddy wants to stay and Celtic are going into next season to hit ten in a row. The chance of more money for the striker and to be a history make might just be enough.

Eddy is only 22 and could afford to develop his game another year at the club before heading off and landing a big money move.
