Karamoko Dembele has been confirmed by FC Brest on Tuesday morning. The former Celtic winger signing a four-year deal.
Dembele signed his first professional deal with Celtic at 15 but never made a proper dent in the first team despite high expectations.
There’s a mixture of issues that led to Karamoko not making it at Celtic. Our poor youth development policy, the pandemic and CeltsAreHere was told by a reliable source the player refused to entertain a loan move to the lower leagues to get game time.
Ange Postecoglou coming into the club gave renewed hope the winger could make it. However, a bad injury suffered in pre-season last year meant it wasn’t going to be on the cards.
Speaking after leaving the club, Dembele told the Brest website he was looking forward to the challenge ahead.
“I come to Brest because I saw that the project presented by Greg Lorenzi was good. It’s something that suits me and I think I can have time to play here. It was a great opportunity that presented itself to me and it interested me.” Karamoko told FC Brest.
“I am very explosive, I like to have fun and give some to fans and of course I like to score and win.”

We wish the tricky winger all the best for the future. He has a big season ahead to show what he can do.
Potential is only potential, you need to back it up with performances at a high level to turn heads.
