‘It’s Not Happening’ – McCoist Baulks at Celtic Gesture

ALAN BRAZIL poked fun at Ally McCoist on their talk sport show on Thursday morning suggesting his old club should give a guard of honour to Celtic on Saturday.

Celtic are set to go into the belly of the beast at Ibrox on Saturday with just bragging rights on the day to play for. Celtic’s rampant form this season has meant they wrapped up the league title the first game after the split.

Having just won the league at Tynecastle, we see it all over the world where one club will give a guard of honour to the newly crowned champions. However, we don’t expect that from them when we come to town.

Nonetheless, Brazil still poked fun at McCoist saying it would be a nice gesture from the home side, however, McCoist can’t bring himself to fathom such a sporting moment.

Speaking on TalkSport as cited by SunSport, Brazil joked: With Queen’s ‘We Are The Champions’ playing in the background, Brazil mused: “Should Rangers do it at Ibrox on Saturday Alistair?”

McCoist, laughing said: “What do you think? What do you think?”

Brazil went on: “It would be a great token gesture.”

But McCoist, still having none of it, fired back: “You know it’s not happening. I know it’s not happening. Move on! Next question.”

Brazil quipped: “Come on – you’re a spoilsport!”

Celtic won the title for the 53rd time in their unbroken history when they sealed the 2-0 victory in the capital.

The bhoys are on for a treble if they can get past Inverness at the beginning of June. It’s been a special season.
