‘It’s Not About Age, It’s About Ability’ – Rodgers Set to Hand Youngster Glasgow Derby Start

BRENDAN RODGERS gave his strongest hint at the weekend that he is ready to field Kristoffer Ajer in the heat of an end of year Glasgow Deby battle when the Irishman declared ‘it’s not about age, it’s about ability’.

Ajer has then gone on to stroll the game against Dundee and is rapidly becoming the first team choice ahead of Jozo Simunovic.

The Norweigan who has had to be exceptionally patient for his chance to impress has taken his chance with both hands and looks set to be rewarded on 30th December.

With the incoming Marvin Compper putting pressure on the Celtic defenders, it could be a young and old head in the heart of Celtic’s defence after the winter shutdown.

Ajer was brought in under former boss Ronny Deila and has been loaned out to Kilmarnock last season under Rodgers where the player excelled in only four months.

Celtic fans are in agreeance that the youngster deserves this opportunity.
