This transfer, if successful, would see Vata joining Atalanta’s B team in the Primavera league before his eventual progression to their first team.

Despite Vata’s evident potential and his performances as a Republic of Ireland under-21 international, Celtic has not yet put forward a new contract offer. His current terms are set to expire in the summer, but the Italian side is going to try and get a deal over the line in January.

Atalanta’s pursuit is not without competition. Other notable Italian clubs, including Inter Milan and Torino, have previously shown interest in scouting Vata. However, at this juncture, Atalanta appears to be leading the race to secure a deal with the young talent.
