‘Irrelevant’ – Brendan Rodgers Makes ‘Title Race’ Admission

BRENDAN RODGERS has made it clear he’s only focused on Celtic when it comes to matters in the SPFL.

The Irishman was asked to comment on other teams around the Scottish Champions and how he felt about the competition this year.

Celtic are currently third but if they win their games in hand will return to the top of the league.

Rodgers was asked if he was feeling the heat with it being tight at the top but the Celtic manager was cool about the whole thing.

“We always look at our own game because what Rangers do or Kilmarnock, or any of the teams, is irrelevant to us.” Rodgers told RecordSport.

“We have to do our own job and play to our own standards. Of course, when there’s competition there, that’s good for you.

“It’s tighter this year. But we’re in a very good position and if we can take that into the second part of the season I’ll be happy.

“It’s an important few days for us now. We’ll get a break after that which the players clearly need.”

This is a key attitude for Celtic to be able to move along and progress throughout the season.

There is no time to look at what our rivals may or may not be doing, this team know on their day they are good enough to beat any side in the league and must strive for consistency before and after the winter break.
