Celtic have been looking for defensive stability. The team as a whole this year have not done enough to keep teams out. It’s been our major flaw, even when we go two goals up, there’s no guarantees of a win.
We need to get back to basics but more than that we need more defensive cover for injuries and poor form.
One man whose name has cropped up on many forums and social media platforms this season is, Declan Gallagher.
The Motherwell defender has had a good season so far and was pivotal in Scotland qualifying for their first tournament in over 20 years.
With the clock ticking down to the new year, Declan is free to talk to club’s in January about a pre-contract.
The defender wouldn’t be anywhere near a glamour signing, but could it be a good bit of business to bring the player in on a low cost deal.
Declan is a no nonsense defender who defends well in the air, something we’ve struggled with as of late.
The centre-back started his career at Celtic in 2008, but it never worked out for him.
We could find out sooner rather than later if the club are interested in the Motherwell and Scotland star.
