Moriyasu intends to use the trip to build a friendly relationship with the Celtic manager, who was quick to dispel any potential issues concerning the exclusion of Kyogo and Reo Hatate from his recent squads, despite their terrific club form.

“The coach is always welcoming, he tells me about the current situation of the Japanese players and I receive useful information for the benefit of the national team.

“I hope we can build more friendly relations. He is a coach that I myself respect, so if there is an opportunity to talk to him, I would like to go.” [Daily Record]

Postecoglou has previously said that there were no unsavoury feelings towards the national boss, in fact, he was very complimentary when talking about him. Having already hosted the Japanese manager, Postecoglou has said he was welcome to Celtic anytime.

Kyogo and Hatate are two exceptional players for Celtic, and their time for their national team will come, especially for the midfielder who’s only made the single appearance.

Maeda has been a regular for his country, scoring in the World Cup.
