Injury Latest: Celtic Set To Be Without First-Team Pair

Both James Forrest and James McCarthy look set to miss out on tomorrow night’s Europa League play-off tie in the Netherlands against AZ Alkmaar.

As reported by Sun Sport, neither Forrest nor new summer recruit McCarthy were spotted on the flight which headed for the Netherlands this afternoon.

Going into the tie, Celtic take a 2-0 lead into the second leg. Both players featured in last weeks fixture, with the winger playing a key part in the Hoops second goal on the night.

This will come as a slight blow to Ange Postecoglou, as he loses two of his first-team options, which have featured from the start or off the bench in recent weeks.

Although, with the summer recruits coming in, we look in better shape than we have been in the last few months.

The report doesn’t state who long the duo will be out of action. Fingers crossed it isn’t too long of an extended period on the sidelines, with both players bringing vast amounts of experience to the group.
