Injured Celtic Star Called Up to Scotland Squad – Will Celtic Put Their Foot Down?

CELTIC have SIX call ups to the Scotland squad for this month’s international break.

Oli Burke receives his first call up in two years after impressing for Celtic on-loan from West Brom, James Forrest, Kieran Tierney, Scott Bain and Lewis Morgan also make the cut.

However, the concerning call up for many Celtic fans will be Callum McGregor. The player has not kicked a ball for Celtic since mid-February and while he’s nearly ready to get back on the training ground, being thrown into an International match is not ideal.

While players will mostly always want to play for their country when they can, it could badly affect Celtic’s season if Callum goes out to train and play with a group of coaches who have not been helping manage his injury.

Surely Neil Lennon and Celtic may step in or at least ask the Scotland setup not to play Callum for the full 90 minutes.
