The international break is always a drag, but this month it seems to be played out just that little bit longer.
This is the second international break of the season which has halted Celtic when they started to gain momentum.
Before the September break, Celtic beat Steven Gerrard’s men 1-0 at Celtic Park and sent an Ibrox side high on bluster homewards to think again.
This month, with Celtic struggling for form and eeking out results, the bhoys absolutely smashed St Johnstone in a six-goal demolition.
This gave the Celtic team an incredible boost but with the International break kicking in and the subsequent misuse of some of our Scottish stars since – the confidence levels won’t be as high.
It will be up to Brendan Rodgers to rally his travelling stars when they return to training this week.
Celtic have a massive game against Neil Lennon’s Hibs side on Saturday and it’s a mouthwatering prospect when you take into account the match is heading for a sell-out.
With no ‘proper’ football since last Sunday, Celtic fans are desperate to see the bhoys kick on and Hibs present a very real obstacle to getting back to the summit of the SPFL.
When the game kicks off at 3 pm on Saturday there will be a collective sigh of relief from the Celtic fans and hopefully, another good performance will build on our St Johnstone rout.
