CELTIC are moving to tie up their star players on longer, improved contracts to ward off any potential suitors in the coming months.
Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has revealed Celtic are in talks with both Liel Abada and Giorgios Giakoumakis about extending their current deals.
Liel is already contracted to Celtic until 2026, but the thought must be to improve his current terms so the player is happy and can continue to develop for the Hoops. The current board and Michael Nicholson know all too well what happens if they leave contracts until the last 18 months of a deal.
Giakoumakis has the same deal length as Liel Abada but is six years older than the Israeli. While a new Abada deal should appease the player’s financial demand, it will also ensure we get a sizeable fee for Liel when the time comes.

Giakoumakis could be looking to settle down at Celtic, and the club might see the Greek striker as a major part of their plans over the next four years unless they plan to sell him in the next 18 months.
