LEWIS MORGAN has helped Sunderland to within a point of an automatic promotion place after the Black Cats came from a goal behind against Walsall to take all three points in a 2-1 win.
The Celtic midfielder started again for his loan club and played 70 minutes before being substituted. Morgan has been going from strength to strength down south and has really hit his stride in recent weeks as he tries to help Jack Ross reach the Championship.
Many Sunderland fans have spoken of the player’s ability over the past few weeks and were delighted when Lewis scored the goal which has booked them a place at Wembley in the Checkatrade Cup Final.
On Saturday, the midfielder didn’t get on the scoresheet but the Sunderland Echo twitter account described the Celtic player as ‘impressive’ and a ‘constant threat’.

Lewis is due back at Celtic this summer where he along with his Celtic team-mates will be working under a new full time manager after the departure of Brendan Rodgers.
Celtic fans should get excited if Lewis can reach his full potential at Celtic next term. It’s a packed field but if he continues to develop and gain confidence during his loan spell it can only be a bouns.
It’s clear a lot of Sunderland fans would like to keep Lewis if it was possible, but it’s likely a new man would run the rule over his full squad before making any profound transfer decisions.
