‘I’m sure of it’ – Chris Sutton Backs Celtic to Make Big Deal

CHRIS SUTTON is certain Fraser Forster wants to sign for Celtic and he’ll end up in Paradise if the club put up the money for him.

BT Sports most vocal pundit thinks the goalkeeper wants to make his mark on the game having wasted two seasons at Southampton playing in the reserves. Sutton mentions other clubs potentially looking to move for the Englishman — but the only way is Celtic as long as they play ball as far as the former Celtic striker is concerned.

“Forster is wanted by clubs in England and there is talk of him being a target for a top-four outfit, but there’s no way he’d be replacing the guys between the sticks at those clubs,” Sutton told RecordSport as cited by the Daily Echo.

“He’d be a back-up keeper and, having wasted almost two years of his career on a bench at Southampton, does he really need to be doing that again at this stage of his life?

“Forster is hardly going to tell his grandkids about the day he was wearing a trackie while getting a Champions League medal. Or tell them about the save me made against Stoke’s Under-23 side on a Tuesday night.

“Big games and big pressure at Celtic brings out the best in him and he’ll sign if Celtic stump up the goods. I’m sure of it.”

Forster knows if he comes back to Celtic this summer, it will be to try and make Celtic history. For the goalkeeper, it would be finishing what he started ten years ago alongside the manager and captain who also started the run. It’s a big carrot but nothing is guaranteed.
